Something that really helps me whenever I’m having a challenging week is practicing gratitude. In fact it’s something I try to incorporate into my everyday life.
Life feels less overwhelming when we think positively about the things we have to do. When talking about the things we have to get done, let’s now say ‘I get to’ instead of ‘I have to’. This relates to anything we get to do, motherhood duties, work, cleaning, cooking, ect.
Today I get to spend all day with my son.
I get to clean the house.
I get to cook us healthy and nutritious meals.
I get to mother a toddler who can be more than difficult.
I get to do some exercise to benefit my health.
I get to clean the house again, and again and again (let’s be real this never ends as a mum)
I get to breastfeed and comfort my baby until he falls to sleep.
I get to do all of these things because I am alive, and well. And that’s something to be grateful for everyday.
